In less than two years, student-athletes have been involved in deals worth over $2B, all generated through well-established sport management/marketing channels. Those deals included less than 1% of the NCAA 500,000+ student athletes and featured household names. The NCAA decision also led to the creation of new businesses aiming to take advantage of this new segment, mostly specialized sports agencies or marketplaces that are looking at student-athletes as potential revenue generating individuals.
